Sri Nandhanam Maritime Academy is also known as the Maritime Training Centre of Sri Nandhanam College of Engineering and Technology. It was established in 2006 and received recognition as a maritime training institution by the Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India. The institution also offers several postgraduate, graduate, and diploma courses in the maritime, shipping, and logistics sectors. Furthermore, these courses are approved by the AICTE and DoTE, Government of Tamil Nadu.
Along with this, the institution is accredited with an ‘A’ Grade Rating by Class RINA, Italy. The academy is also affiliated with the Alagappa University (Govt), and the course BE Marine Engineering is under the Anna University (Govt). Additionally, the campus lies on over 50 acres of land and offers students facilities such as the College Block, Hostel, Mess Workshops, and over 92 Labs for Presea Training.
Sri Nandhanam Maritime Academy (SNMA) aims to provide 100% placement assistance through its Placement Guarantee Program. Students must enrol in this program before they start the course. Sri Nandhanam Maritime Academy Admission
The institute provides several courses, such as a BSc in Nautical Science Course, a BE in Marine Engineering Course, a STCW Basic Safety Training Course, a Graduate Marine Engineer course, and more. Candidates who want to get admission into any of these courses must check if they fulfil the eligibility criteria mentioned on the official website.
If the candidate fulfils the eligibility criteria mentioned on the website, they must proceed to the Course Booking Portal, book their chosen course, and pay the fee. Afterwards, candidates must submit the advance fee remittance receipt, sending a copy of their mark list and transfer certificate should be emailed to them.
Candidates must remember to mention all the important details on it. After two days, candidates will get their provisional admit card for the course. Additionally, the course booking fee ranges from INR 1999 to INR 25,000.

Sri Nandhanam Maritime Academy Admission Eligibility Criteria 2025
Candidates who want to get admission in any of the courses offered by the Institute must eligibility criteria:
For courses such as B.E. Marine Engineering and BSc Nautical Science Courses, candidates must have passed class 12th with a minimum of 60% marks in PCM and 50% in English from a recognised university.
Diploma holders who are looking for direct 2nd Year Lateral Entry admissions into the BE Marine Engineering should have a minimum of 60% marks and a government-recognised diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Tool & Die Making, Marine Engineering, Electrical & Communication Engineering, or Electrical & Electronics Engineering Branches.
Candidates applying for the Graduate Marine Engineering course should have graduated in Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture, with or without their allied branches.
Along with this, candidates applying for GME should have a minimum of 50% marks in graduation or a CGPA of 5 and above. Additionally, they should have obtained more than 50% marks in UG or HSC.
For non-sailing courses such as BSc Fire & Industrial Safety, BSc Catering & Hospital Administration, and others, students should have passed class 12th from a recognised government body.
Sri Nandhanam Maritime Academy Placement 2025
Sri Nandhanam Maritime Academy provides 100% placement assistance to its students, provided they enrol in the placement assistance program before the course starts and pass the IELTS with a Score of 6 or more. Apart from this, the program also helps students in finding jobs, including training for interviews and at least five job interview opportunities with shipping companies. Candidates who are successfully placed in top companies get fee rebates, and those who are not placed may receive partial refunds.
