Sikkim Manipal University Gangtok (SMU) has launched the admission process for the academic year 2026-27 for UG, PG, and Ph.D. programmes in various disciplines like engineering, management, computer applications, sciences, humanities, and health sciences. Key programmes offered are B.Tech (Computer Science & Engineering, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Data Science, Civil, Mechanical, VLSI Design), BBA, BCA, B.Sc, B.A., B.Com, B.Sc Nursing, BPT, MBBS, and at the PG level MBA (Marketing, Finance, HR, Business Analytics), MCA, M.Tech, M.Sc, M.Com, MD/MS, M.Sc Nursing, MPT, and MHA.
To get admission in the B.Tech programme at SMIT, candidates should have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics and obtained at least 45% marks (40% for reserved categories). Admissions will be done on the basis of SMET/JEE. The application fee is around INR 1,000, and the tuition fee is between INR 1.83 lakh and INR 2.15 lakh per annum. April 12, 2026, is the last date to apply, and SMET will be held in mid, April 2026.
To get admission in MBA, the candidates should have a bachelors degree with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories). One has to qualify for NEET UG to get admission to MBBS at Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences (SMIMS) and MBBS MD/MS NEET, PG is necessary. The total placement percentage was around 79% in 2025, whereas it was almost 86% in 2024. Sikkim Manipal University Scholarship 2026

The scholarships are aimed at recognizing and rewarding students' academic achievements, making higher education more accessible, and bringing in student groups from diverse backgrounds.
The university mainly offers merit scholarships to B.Tech students on the basis of their academic record and national entrance exam results and provides general scholarships for the other UG and PG programmes. Besides that, SMU has special scholarships for differently-abled students, social initiative female students, armed forces martyrs' wards, state toppers, sports achievers, overseas students, etc.
SMU scholarships are mostly given as a percentage reduction in the tuition fee and are valid for the entire course duration, provided that academic performance (e.g., achieving a certain CGPA and no backlogs) and other criteria are met. A student can only use one scholarship scheme at a time and must present the necessary documents either at the time of admission or in the next term at the latest if requested.

Students have the option to choose between double sharing or single rooms, and both AC and non-AC are available.
