The PhD Merit Scholarship will be awarded to candidates based on their overall performance in several key areas. Selection will take into account how well the applicant performs in the interview, the marks they have achieved in their post-graduation studies, the quality and quantity of their previous research work or publications, and the NIRF ranking of the institution from which they completed their post-graduation.
Students who receive a full tuition fee waiver will be recognized as Chancellor’s Fellows. Multiple scholarships are available based on the selection criteria. At the beginning of the program, scholarships will be awarded for the first two semesters. To continue receiving the scholarship, PhD candidates must meet certain conditions that will be reviewed annually. The first review will take place at the end of semester 2. If the requirements are met, the scholarship will be extended to semesters 3 and 4. A second review will be conducted at the end of semester 4, and if the conditions are satisfied, the scholarship will be further extended to semesters 5 and 6.

International students who enroll in the Ph.D program at Shoolini University will receive a 75% tuition fee waiver along with a monthly scholarship of INR 25,000.
Students who have completed their undergraduate degree under the New Education Policy guidelines are eligible to directly enroll in a PhD program without needing a master’s degree. Deserving students may receive up to a 100% tuition fee waiver, based on the recommendation of the scholarship committee.
PhD students who clear the JRF exam and show strong research potential can receive a full tuition fee waiver and a monthly stipend of INR 31,000 for the first three years. Only three such scholarships are available, funded either through extramural projects or university funds. To continue receiving the fellowship, Junior Research Fellows must publish three research papers each year with a minimum impact factor of two, in addition to their PhD requirements. Failure to meet these conditions will result in the discontinuation of the fellowship. Fellows are also required to stay in the university’s residential premises during their research, though hostel fees will not be waived.

Eligible candidates take the SMART test, followed by a scholarship interview.
