Shobhit University admissions process is ongoing, and it is designed for use across a variety of disciplines, including undergraduate, postgraduate, professional, technical and interdisciplinary programmes. In order to serve different student types with different academic backgrounds, the university sets multiple routes to admission based upon the need for equitable and fair access, recognition of academic merit and appropriateness for further study.

Shobhit University's primary route to admission is through the Shobhit University National Entrance & Scholarship Test (SUNET). SUNET is a common entrance examination used for admission to a selection of the most popular programmes, including B.Tech., BCA, BBA, MBA, MCA, LL.B., LL.M. and over 35 other programmes in science and management. The date for Phase II of SUNET is 11 May - 30 May 2026, and the application fee is INR 300. The primary goal of this exam is to assess a student's aptitude for success in the programme they have applied to, as well as their ability to perform academically for programmatic success.

Candidates will gain admission to Shobhit University through SUNET based on the following criteria: fulfilment of eligibility for the programme, performance on the SUNET exam, verification of documents, counselling/interview (if applicable) and receipt of a scholarship (based on performance on the SUNET exam).

In addition to SUNET, Shobhit University does accept scores from national-level recognised entrance exams. For example, for B.Tech and some undergraduate programmes, it accepts JEE Main and CUET scores, for MBA admissions, it considers CAT, MAT and CMAT scores. Students requesting admission for law programmes such as BA LL.B., B.Com. LL.B. Hons, and BBA LL.B. Hons, university accepts CLAT and LSAT scores; and it considers GATE scores for M.Tech. When providing admissions through these examinations, candidates who submitted an application through these tests must also satisfy the Department of Education's eligibility criteria for their course.

There are several programmes at Shobhit University where admission without an entrance exam is available. In this regard, candidates are selected based upon their qualifying examination marks, academic consistency, and programme eligibility criteria and those who have a high academic standing usually achieve 75% or higher in their previous qualifying examination. They will also generally receive preference in the Admission process.

Admission can be granted, under exceptional merit or outstanding achievements in sports, innovation, research, leadership, cultural activities, arts or community service. Those candidates will only be considered for direct Assessment based upon the required university processes.

Students are also required to pay admission charges depending on the course category. The admission fee is generally set as INR 5000, INR 10000, or INR 15,000 and is charged under the annual fee.

This allows them to apply to all of the B.Tech Programs (ie, Computer Science, Agricultural Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Biotechnology). Applicants to Agricultural Engineering are permitted to apply with either (Physics, Chemistry and Biology, or Physics, Chemistry and Agriculture). Admissions may be granted based on results from entrance exams like SUNET (State Universities Net Entrance Test), JEE Main, CUET (UG), or academic merit.

Candidates applying to B.Sc. (Hons.) (Agriculture, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biomedical Sciences and Nutrition & Dietetics) must have completed their 12th grade in either Physics, Chemistry and Biology, or Physics, Chemistry and Maths, or Physics, Chemistry and Agriculture, and have earned a minimum of 50% aggregate across all subjects.

Candidates who are interested in Commerce, Management or Humanities Degrees (B.Com. (Hons.), BBA, BA General, BA (Hons.) Psychology, or BA Business Economics) must also have completed 12th Grade with a minimum of 50% in aggregate across all subjects.

For integrated law courses such as BA LL.B., B.Com. LL.B. Hons and BBA LL.B. Hons require a minimum of 45% marks at the 10+2 level. Likewise, students who have studied BCA in any of the specialisations of AI & Machine Learning, Cyber Security, Internet of Things, and Data Science must also have studied either Mathematics or Computer Science with 50% aggregate marks.

For postgraduate study, MBA admission will be by way of a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks, together with a valid score in SUNET, CAT, MAT or CMAT. Applicants for M.Tech. require a B.Tech/B.E. degree or equivalent in a related field with at least 55% aggregate marks; candidates eligible for GATE will be given preference. Programmes of study at the postgraduate level for MCA, MSc, LL.B, LL.M., B.Ed and PG Diploma will also only accept applications with qualifying degrees having prescribed levels of minimum aggregate marks.

PhD candidates must possess a master's degree with a minimum aggregate score of at least 55%. In exceptional cases, engineering graduates with a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in their respective disciplines and relevant work experience may also apply for enrolment in PhD programs.

For BBA, B.Com Hons, BA, or BCA, candidates must have obtained 50% or greater overall in the 10+2 examination. Both the BA LL.B. and the BBA LL.B. Hons have an additional requirement of having received 45% in your 12th Grade.

The Shobhit University MBA program is UGC recognised and AICTE approved, which opens several options for admission to the MBA program.
