Sarala Birla University is a private, self-financed university located in Ranchi, Jharkhand. It was established in 2017 by Bharat Arogya and Gyan Mandir through the Sarla Birla University Act, passed by the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly. The university is approved and recognised by important bodies such as the University Grants Commission, Pharmacy Council of India, Bar Council of India, and the Association of Indian Universities. It tries to provide quality education in different areas, such as Technical, Professional, and General Studies, to enable students to learn and acquire knowledge and skills in their future professions.

Students must have certain qualifications to pursue courses at Sarala Birla University. In the case of undergraduate coursework, students must have passed Class 12 with good marks, and some courses might also require them to take entrance exams. In postgraduate courses, a bachelor's degree is a prerequisite, and an entrance examination might also be necessary in certain courses. The diploma courses require completion of Class 10 or 12, according to the course, and they may require special training. Admission to a PhD is also based on an entrance exam, prior studies and interview. Sarala Birla University offers different scholarships to help students pay their tuition fees. Some scholarships are for children of soldiers, Baghm UNITS employees, or students who are differently-abled. There are also special scholarships for school students of Sarala Birla and for children of Kashmiri migrants. These scholarships can help students save 10% to 25% on tuition fees. To get these, students must show original documents during counseling.
For students doing Diploma, Undergraduate, or Postgraduate courses, scholarships are also given for good marks. If a student scores very high in their exams, they can get 10% to 50% off their tuition fees. The higher the marks, the bigger the scholarship. These scholarships are only for regular fees and are not given for hostel or transport costs.
There are also internal scholarships for students who do very well in semester exams. The best 10% of students in a semester can get 25% off, and the next 10% can get 10% off their tuition fees.
