NIT Tiruchirappalli Eligibility Criteria
NIT Trichy offers various Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and PhD courses to students. The eligibility criteria may differ based on the choice of course. The details are mentioned below:
For UG courses, Class 12 with a minimum of 75% marks from a recognised board is the basic requirement.
For PG courses, a bachelor’s degree in relevant subjects with at least 50-60% marks, based on the course.
For PhD course, a master's degree with at least 55% marks in the relevant field is required.
NIT Tiruchirappalli UG Admission 2025
NIT Trichy offers many UG courses like B.Tech, B.Arch and B.Sc B.Ed in various disciplines, i.e., Engineering, Architecture, and Teaching. The admission process for B.Tech and B.Arch courses started on 1 February 2025 and closed on 25 February 2025, as the admission is based on JEE Main entrance exam. Whereas, admissions to B.Sc B.Ed (ITEP) course was open till 31 March 2025. The application fee is around INR 500-1000 that students have to pay at the time of application submission, and after selection for the course, the fee range for UG programs is between INR 6,00,000 to INR 7,00,000. Interested students can apply online through the official portal of the institute before the given deadline. The institute reserves 50% of the seats for students belonging to Tamil Nadu (Home State Quota).

NIT Tiruchirappalli B.Tech Admission 2025
NIT Trichy is known for its B.Tech course. It offers B.Tech program in a number of disciplines, including Chemical, Civil, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Mechanical, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, etc. Interested candidates should have completed Class 12 in Mathematics with 75% marks and must qualify JEE (Main) exam to pursue B.Tech from this prestigious institute. To sit for JEE (Main) exam, students have to fill out the online application by visiting the official website of the exam conducting agency, i.e., NTA (National Testing Agency).

M.Tech, M. Arch, MBA, MCA, M.Sc and MA are the PG courses offered at NIT Trichy in the fields like Management, Engineering, Architecture, and Technology. Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria to take admission for PG courses. Admissions are done on the basis of national entrance exams for various courses like NIMCET, IIT JAM, GATE, CAT, etc. Students are eligible to take admission at NIT Trichy only after clearing the entrance exam. The online entrance test for the NIMCET is expected to be held on 8 June 2025. The application fee is approximately INR 500-1,000, and the full course fee is around INR 2,00,000-4,00,000. Interested candidates must have completed a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field with at least 50-55% marks to take admission in M.Tech at NIT Trichy, and a valid score in GATE exam is required too. NIT Trichy M.Tech admission last date is 13 August 2025, tentatively. Students must complete an online application on the official website and pay the application fee of INR 500-1,000, depending on the category. Once the final selection is confirmed, students must submit the necessary documents and the course fee. The complete fee of the course is between INR 2,00,000 and INR 4,00,000.

NIT Trichy offers PhD admission in a number of fields, including Management, Architecture, Engineering, Science, etc. Interested students must ensure that they are fulfilling the eligibility criteria for pursuing PhD from NIT Trichy.
