The National Institute of Science and Technology University offers several courses, such as B.Tech, BCA, B.Sc, B.Pharma, M.Tech, MBA, and more, with numerous specialisations for the students. Admission to these courses is based on the counselling of the university, which is followed by the University entrance exam. Students who are eligible after counselling will only get allotment when they pay the confirmation seat fees.
The application fee for every program is INR 500, which is non-refundable. Students pursuing admission to NIST must fulfil certain eligibility criteria. Students getting admission in Undergraduation & post graduation have different criteria for the courses offered by the university, and must fulfil the eligibility criteria as mentioned below :
Candidates who want to get admitted into NIST University must have appeared in NIST University's entrance exams. For Graduation programs, candidates must pass 10+2 in the science stream ( math included in some relevant courses) with 45 to 50% aggregate marks (each category has a different minimum marking percentage).
To get admitted to the PG course, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with an aggregate mark of 40-45% (% may vary depending on the category).
Students pursuing for PHD program should have a minimum of 45-55% aggregate marks in their master’s degree. However, the admission process for PHD students requires a minimum of 50% marks with a personal interview conducted by the university.

Scholarship is provided to the sibling of the student with an offered amount of INR 10,000 per student, which is one time only.
Scholarship is considered for all the students of B.Tech.Tech, MBA, and MCA with 9.0 CGPA (without any back paper), with a scholarship of INR 3,000 per semester.
Students from UG and PG groups are involved with faculty members in joint research work, with students get a stipend of INR 2,000 per month for 2 months.
Each year few students are selected as teaching assistants to assist faculty members in their academic work for different subjects, with receive INR 1,000 per month.
Merit candidates who are admitted to NIST are offered a monthly scholarship of INR 15,000.
Merit candidates who are taking admission to NIST are offered a monthly scholarship of INR 4000 to NON GATE students under this scheme.
