

The National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj provides a PGDM in Rural Development, which is a regular course approved by the AICTE. It also provides other PGDM courses through distance learning, such as PGDM in Geospatial Technology Applications in Rural Development, PGDM in Tribal Development Management, and PGDM in Sustainable Rural Development.
Through the PGDM in Rural Development, students learn skills for planning and managing Rural Development Programs. The course also includes Rural development management practices, fieldwork, and rural organisation internship.
Throughout the course, students learn through short field visits, seminars, workshops, fortnightly forum presentations, special lectures, thematic assignments, quizzes, examinations, exposure visits, panel discussions, games, and case studies.
The Institute provides one regular PGDM course and three PGDM courses through distance learning. Through the PGDM in Rural Development, students will gain expertise in planning & management of rural development programs and a sensitivity to the issues of equity and gender.
Additionally, the course is one year, and the total fee for this course is INR 5,70,000. Candidates who want to get admission into this course must have a bachelor’s degree (minimum of three years) with at least 50% (45% for the reserved categories). Additionally, they need to score in any one of the management exams, such as CAT, XAT, MAT, ATMA, and CMAT.
The candidates need to appear for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview after they clear the entrance exams. Candidates who want to get admission into these courses must fill out the application form when it is available on the official website. INR 500 is the application fee for the general category, while INR 300 is the application fee for the reserved category. Currently, the admission window is closed. NIRDPR also provides three courses through distance learning, such as PGDM in Sustainable Rural Development.
Candidates who want to get admission into this course need to be a graduate in any discipline from a UGC recognised University. Additionally, in-service development personnel from the Rural development, agriculture, corporate sector, and others.
For the PGDM course in Tribal Development Management, candidates must be a graduate in any stream from a UGC recognised University. The course duration is 18 months, whereas for the third distance course, which is PGDM in Geo Spatial Technology Applications in Rural Development. Candidates who want to get admission into this course should have a graduate degree in any discipline.
All the distance courses are of 18 months, and the total fee ranges from INR 16,500 to INR 19,800 for General candidates. Whereas for the reserved categories, it is INR 14,850 to INR 16,500.
