The University accepts admissions to UG, PG, Diploma and PhD programs according to the academic qualification, entrance examination (in certain cases) and interviews. To get admission, students need to fulfill the minimum marks needed in their chosen course and undergo the application and document procedure.

UG Eligibility  - To apply for an undergraduate course at Mind Power University, Nainital, students must first fill out an online application form and submit their academic details and chosen course. They should have completed Class 12 with at least 50% marks for general category students and 45% marks for SC/ST students. Some programs may ask students to take an entrance exam such as CUET or MPUCET to check their knowledge and skills. Shortlisted students are then called for a personal interview. Those who are selected will receive admission details and must complete the required documents to confirm their seat.

PG Eligibility  - Students who want to apply for Masters level courses at Mind Power University can apply online by visiting the university website. For applying,  they need to have a bachelor’s degree in any subject with at least 50% marks for general category students and 45% for SC/ST students. Some courses may ask for entrance exam scores such as CAT, XAT, CMAT, GMAT, or MAT to test subject knowledge.

After this, selected students are called for a personal interview to understand their interest, skills and career plans. The final decision is made based on past studies, exam results (if needed) and interview performance. Students who are chosen must submit their documents and complete registration to confirm admission.

Diploma Eligibility  - For a 2 year diploma course students must pass Class 12 from any stream and score at least 50% marks. For a 3-year diploma course candidates need to pass Class 10 and also get at least 50% marks.

PhD  - Students can apply for a PhD if they meet any of these conditions:

• They have completed a master’s degree after a 4-year bachelor’s program, or a 2-year master’s degree after a 3-year bachelor’s program, with at least 55% marks.

• Students with a similar degree from a recognized foreign university can also apply.

• Those applying after a 4-year bachelor’s degree must have 75% marks overall.

• Candidates with 55% marks in M.Phil are eligible for PhD admission.

Note: A 5% marks relaxation may be given to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer), differently-abled, and EWS candidates as per rules.

Entrance exam

The PhD entrance exam at the university is known as the Research Degree Entrance Test (RDET). It is conducted to check a candidate’s research ability and subject knowledge before admission. The entrance test has two parts, one is a written exam and the other is a personal interview. The written exam checks the student’s understanding of research methods and their chosen subject. Only students who score the minimum required marks in this test are invited for the interview. The final admission decision is made by looking at the student’s performance in both the written exam and the interview together.

Some candidates can get PhD admission without taking the RDET if they qualify for national fellowships or exams like UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, GATE, GPAT, INSPIRE or hold an M.Phil. They must still apply online and attend an interview. Fellowship certificates must be valid. Regular university teachers and eligible CCS Group-A officers may also apply under this category. Admission is done only through an interview with no separate merit list.
