MIT College of Railway Engineering & Research was established in 2017 under the aegis of MAEER’s MIT Pune, Barshi. The college is affiliated with the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University and is approved by AICTE & Govt. of Maharashtra, DTE Mumbai.

Candidates who want to get admission into the B.Tech course have to fulfil the eligibility criteria given below:
For the B.Tech First Year:
Students from the Maharashtra state should have passed Class 12th with Physics and Mathematics as core subjects with at least 45% marks (40% for the reserved categories).
They should also have a valid entrance exam score in the MHT-CET or JEE Mains.
For Jammu & Kashmir migrant candidates, they should have passed Class 12th with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for reserved candidates), and have secured a valid score in JEE (Main) B.E./B.Tech examination.
Students belonging to the NRI/ OCI/ PIO/ Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries, and Foreign Nationals should have passed Class 12th with Physics and Chemistry as mandatory subjects.
Along with this, aspirants should have passed one of the subjects, such as Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Technical Vocational subjects, Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics Practices, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics, or Business Studies.
They should have obtained at least 45% marks in the above subjects.
For B.Tech Direct Second Year Eligibility Criteria
Candidates belonging to Maharashtra and All India should have passed a minimum of two or three years (Lateral Entry) Diploma course in Engineering & Technology.
They have scored a minimum of 45% (40% marks for the reserved categories) in any branch of Engineering & Technology.
Candidates who have passed a BSc Degree from a University Grants Commission (UGC) or Association of Indian Universities are eligible to apply for the B.Tech course.
