Introduction lovely Professional University Admission Overview

Lovely Professional University provides a number of courses for diverse student needs. For each courses the admission eligibility criteria and admission process also varies. Lovely‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Professional University (LPU) provides admission to the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes in the departments of Engineering, Management, Science, Law, Arts, Design and other disciplines, with a total of more than 150 programmes. The Lovely Professional University course admissions process varies by program chosen. In most of the courses of LPU, the admissions and scholarships depend largely on LPUNEST (Lovely Professional University National Entrance and Scholarship Test). The whole application and admission process is carried out online through the official LPU admission portal.

For undergraduate programmes like BA, B.Sc, and B.Com, candidates are typically required to have passed 10+2 from a recognised board with programme-specific minimum marks, which are generally in a range of 50-55% or above. B.Tech applicants are expected to have 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics and English and meet the minimum aggregate marks requirement as specifie. They also require to have a valid LPUNEST score.

Postgraduate and PhD admissions call for a relevant qualifying degree and may also require an entrance test and/or interview. Courses like M.Tech require LPUNEST or the GATE entrance test. Admission for post-graduate management courses like MBA requires qualifying for the LPUNEST, CAT, XAT, MAT or CMAT test. LPUNEST is generally held in the period from January to February. After that, there is counselling, seat allotment and final admission. Scholarships are available for those who excel in the merit list and their ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌performance.

Computer Science and Engineering Admission

To get admission in the courses offered by the Computer Science and Engineering department, candidates must meet its eligibility as well as admission criteria. Both criteria vary by course standard, like UG, UG lateral entry, PG and Ph.d. The admission criteria mainly follow the merit in LPUNEST, fulfilling the eligibility criteria.

LPU UG Admission to Computer Science and Engineering Courses (After 12)

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates who want to appear in an undergraduate course in computer science and engineering, like B.Tech, need to pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with Physics, Mathematics, and English) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST.

  • A mark of 5% relaxation is given for North-East, Sikkim, or Defence Personnel or Wards of Kashmiri migrants candidates.

  • Undergraduate courses that are Hons. Industry Collaborative and Work Integrated requires addition interview from their respective collaborative industry.
