The Assam Kaziranga University, officially known as Kaziranga University, is a private university founded in 2012 in Jorhat, Assam. The university has been associated with a passionate endeavour to close the academic-industrial divide by providing real-life education and career-focused courses. The university has been recognised by UGC and approved by AICTE and PCI. Also, it has been accredited with Grade B++ by NAAC. KU has been rated as one of the top 83-ranked institutions by the IIRF in 2025.

Typically, admission depends on merit and the entrance exam. Admission to the B.Tech, MBA and MCA programs is based on entrance exams like the CAT, MAT or GMAT. Moreover, Kaziranga University has its own entrance test, KUEST.
Admission to the UG courses requires completion of Class 12, and a bachelor’s degree is required for admission to the PG programs. The last date to apply for admission is September 2025 (Tentative).

Kaziranga University offers a diverse range of UG, PG, and Doctoral programs, each with its own set of eligibility criteria for admission in 2025.
For Undergraduate programs, candidates must have completed their Class 12 from a recognised board. For B.Tech courses, students should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) or Computer Science by securing at least 45% marks. B.Tech Lateral Entry is also available for diploma holders or B.Sc graduates with Mathematics in Class 12th. For BBA, B.Com, BCA, and B.Sc programs, a minimum of 45–50% in the relevant stream is required.
The Postgraduate admissions require a bachelor's degree in a related area. In the case of an MBA, the applicant should have a graduate degree with at least 50% marks (45% for the reserved categories). Admission is based on the national level exams like CAT, MAT, GATE and GRE. To be eligible for PhD programs, students must possess a master’s degree by securing at least 55% marks (50% in the case of SC/ST/OBC students).
PhD programs are offered based on entrance tests and interviews conducted by the university, with preference to those candidates who have UGC/CSIR-NET/JRF, GATE, GPAT or other similar qualifications. The last date to apply online is September 2025 (Tentative).
The placement drive 2025 by Kaziranga University presented a great performance in all its flagship programs. More than 301 job opportunities were offered to students in over 70 campus drives, with some of the leading companies in diverse industries. It was considered one of the biggest functions of the Career Development and Placement Cell (CDPC) of the university to equip the students with the necessary skills by conducting skills development workshops, interviews and internship programs.
During the placement season 2025, the highest salary package was INR 12 LPA, which was given to both MBA and B.Tech students. The average package ranges between INR 5.14 LPA and INR 4.26 LPA for the MBA and B.Tech students, respectively. These numbers demonstrate that the university is ready to incorporate academic education with the outcome of employment.

Kaziranga University Scholarships 2025
Kaziranga University has introduced an all-around scholarship program in the academic year 2025, and the aim of the program is to provide quality education to deserving students. These scholarships are provided based on academic merit, entrance exam scores, performance in sports, and social groups.
The popular scholarship of Kaziranga University is based on merit. Students with a 95% or higher score in their last qualifying examination are entitled to receive a 100% tuition fee waiver. A 70% scholarship is offered to those who scored 90% to 94.99%, a 50% waiver to those scoring 85% to 89.99% and a 30% tuition fee waiver to those scoring 80% to 84.99%.
Besides merit, the university rewards performance in sports and input by the defence families. Students who have participated in athletics at the state or national level, wards of military personnel, and individuals with disabilities all qualify under this 25% tuition fee waiver. Kaziranga University also has its own entrance and scholarship examination, KUEST, that gives a 100% scholarship on a performance basis.
