JB Institute of Technology, Dehradun, was established in 2009 as a private institute. It is accredited by NAAC with an A grade, and the courses offered by JBIT, such as MBA, M.Tech, B.Tech, and Diploma in Engineering, are approved by AICTE and affiliated to VMSB Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun, and UBTER, Roorkee.
JBIT Dehradun offers B.Tech in five branches of engineering, including Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
The campus is spread over 25 acres of land, located at the foothills of the Himalayas. It provides several facilities, such as a boys' hostel with a capacity of over 500 students and a girls’ hostel with a holding capacity of 300 students.

Students who want to apply for the B.Tech course should have completed Class 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects by securing at least 45% marks.
For the M.Tech course, candidates should have a B.Tech in streams such as Electronics Communication, IT, or Computer Science. They should also have secured a minimum of 55% marks.
Students who want to get admission into the Diploma in Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical engineering should have passed class 10th in the Science Stream and qualify for the JEEP Entrance exam or through the Management Quota.
