Established in 1995, the Institute of Management and Information Science (IMIS), located in Bhubaneswar, has ranked among the Top 80 Business Schools in India. IMIS, Bhubaneswar, provides a PGDM Program with dual specialisation to enhance the scope of placement. This is the flagship program of the institute, since 1995 offered as a full-time 2-year course. PGDM has been made equivalent to MBA by the AICTE. The PGDM program has six specialisations from which students can choose, including Finance, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Retail, Business Analytics, and Operations Management.
Admission to the PGDM is based on the academic scores along with the entrance exam scores, such as CAT, XAT, MAT, etc. Interested students can apply through the official website by paying the application fee of INR 1000. Selected students will be called for the Group Discussion and a Personal Interview. The total fee for the PGDM program is INR 5,53,000, excluding hostel charges.

Institute of Management and Information Science offers a 2-year, full-time PGDM program with a total fee of INR 5,53,000. To be eligible for PGDM admission, completion of a bachelor's degree from a recognised university is required. For admission to the PGDM Program, aspirants must check the eligibility criteria before applying. The minimum eligibility criteria for admission are mentioned below:
To be admitted to the PGDM Program, students must have passed a bachelor's degree in any discipline. Final-year students are also eligible to apply.
A valid score of any one of the entrance exams, such as CAT, XAT, CMAT, etc, is also required.
Selection is based on the Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

At IMIS Bhubaneswar, the placement office manages all the activities for on-campus placements for PGDM students. The office staff is in charge of conducting interviews, group discussions, and setting up Pre-Placement talks. The Dean of Corporate Relations mainly looks over placement policies and other associated tasks. Three Corporate Relations Officers make up the Placement Office, which is responsible for working with top companies for recruiting.
These top companies include Pepsico, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Flipkart, etc. The placement data for the 2024-2025 shows excellent overall records with a 98.65% placement rate. Over 52 top companies visit the campus to hire potential students from IMIS. The highest salary package offered was INR 9.22 LPA, while the average salary package stood at INR 5.80 LPA. Also, each student was hired from the Marketing and HR departments, providing a 100% placement rate in 2025.
Institute of Management and Information Science Scholarships 2025
The Institute of Management and Information Science offers different scholarships to help its students with their finances. The available scholarship that students can receive only if they are eligible, includes candidates with 65% marks and above in aggregate, will get a scholarship of INR 40,000.
IMIS also conducts a scholarship test in January or February for meritorious students. The selected students will be awarded with the amount of INR 1,00,000. Various scholarships are also available for students from economically weaker sections of families, Defence Personnel, and Covid-affected families. Moreover, 5% seats are reserved for students from Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
