The Imperial Institute of Management Technology (IIMT), Haldwani, adheres to merit-based admission policy with regard to its various Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Diploma courses. In the Under-graduate programs, such as the Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) and the Bachelor of Tourism & Travel Management (BTTM), the students should have completed 10+2 in any stream, and the selection would be purely on merit based on the academic achievement in the qualifying test. With diploma programs, most of them are open to students upon moving out of 10th or 12th grades, depending on the course.
In the case of the postgraduate programs where the eligibility criteria require a recognised bachelor's degree in that branch of study, in this case Master of Hotel Management (MHM) requires 55 per cent aggregate or an equivalent CGPA. Likewise, the Master of Science in Tourism Management (MTM/MA Tourism Management) requires a graduate in any course, with selection being made either by academic merit or relevant entrance tests, followed by counselling. The applications are done directly through the official portal, and the selection process is finalised on the verification of eligibility, score merit and counselling, where applicable.
Imperial Institute of Management Technology (IIMT), Haldwani, provides Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Diploma courses that are eligible only under specific circumstances. For BHM admission, students must have completed Class 12 in any stream from a recognised board. For the Master of Hotel Management (MHM), a bachelor's degree in Hotel management with not less than 55% in the aggregate or equivalent CGPA is required. MTM/MA Tourism Management welcomes graduates in any field, and usually admission is based on merit, with counselling sessions being carried out wherever possible. However, in the diploma programs like Airport and Airlines Management, Cabin Crew/Aviation, Tourism Studies and the IATA/UFTAA Foundation Tourism diploma, the eligibility is course-specific, and most of them require completion of the 10th or the 12th standard, and are, therefore, open to those who have completed either.
The Imperial Institute of Management Technology (IIMT) Haldwani has a vibrant placement structure which is geared towards promoting fruitful tours and hospitality career standards among its alumni students. The placement cell of the institute conducts interactions with the industry to provide access to positions as a tour guide, hotel manager, restaurant manager, travel agent, cruise director, resort activities coordinator, and hospitality consultant.
In a bid to make students employable and well prepared to enter the job market, IIMT focuses on areas such as communication and professional preparedness, and the students become well-equipped to meet their responsibilities in the vibrant fields of hospitality and tourism. This ecosystem is maintained by the infrastructure of the campus with facilities like modern classrooms, computer laboratories, library, hostels, sports facilities, cafeteria services, 24-hour water and power backup, which enhance the healthy environment to train and develop skills.
Scholarship at the Imperial Institute of Management Technology (IIMT), Haldwani, is made available through the Uttarakhand State Government, related to the Uttarakhand State and the Central Government schemes, instead of institute-sponsored schemes. The SC, ST, OBC, economically weaker sections, and the differently-abled students can avail such benefits according to the norms set by the government. Students are guided through the application and documentation process; caste/category certificates, Aadhaar linkage, bank account details, accessing official portals to apply and track status, as well as to obtain approvals. This will make sure that deserving students can continue with their studies in hospitality, tourism, and aviation at a lower financial toll on them.
