IIM Indore Admission is straightforward and transparent; however, each program has different admission criteria. Some programs require entrance exams, some also consider work experience, and all evaluate academic records. The process typically begins with a test.
For example, students applying for management programs like PGP must take the CAT exam, while international students may submit GMAT scores. For programs designed for working professionals, such as EPGP or PGPMX, work experience plays an important role along with other factors.
The IPM program is designed for students right after Class 12 and considers aptitude test or SAT scores, followed by a personal interview. Doctoral programs like DPM and EDPM evaluate academic performance, research skills, and, in some cases, professional experience.
IIM Indore conducts interviews and sometimes group discussions to get to know applicants better. These sessions assess not just academic marks but also your thinking skills, communication abilities, and problem-solving approach. The institute follows government reservation rules for Indian students, while international applicants are selected purely on merit.
Most programs are full-time and on-campus. Students live on campus, participate in workshops, and interact with faculty and industry experts. This hands-on experience helps them become ready for top job roles.

Applicants can choose only one specialisation area while applying. It is recommended that candidates explore the research profiles of faculty members in their chosen area to understand the kind of work being done and the research opportunities available.

Candidates who meet the academic eligibility requirements must first fill out and submit the online application form with all the required details and documents.
After the applications are received, IIM Indore reviews them carefully. Based on academic background and valid test scores, each academic area shortlists candidates for the Personal Interview (PI) round. The interviews are usually conducted at the IIM Indore campus during March or April.
Candidates are evaluated on several parameters during the PI, such as academic readiness, research potential, communication, and overall fit. A minimum performance level is required in all these parameters. Those who do not meet this minimum benchmark will not move to the next stage.
The final selection depends on the needs of each academic area. A merit list is prepared separately for each area based on PI performance, and provisional admission offers are then sent to the selected candidates.
DPM students receive a monthly fellowship/stipend of INR 40,000 during the coursework (Terms I to V). After clearing the Area Comprehensive Examination, the stipend increases to INR 45,000 per month. The maximum duration for receiving this stipend is 57 months (4 years and 9 months).
