IIITDM Kancheepuram admissions are done on a merit and entrance exam basis. Students applying to the institute are required to hold a relevant rank in the entrance examination. The application to the IIITDM Kancheepuram for the academic year 2025-26 is closed. However, students who have already secured a qualifying rank in the entrance examination can register for the counselling round with the specific counselling body.

IIITDM Kancheepuram eligibility criteria for admission vary as per the course level and specialization. IIITDM Chennai courses are offered in B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Des and PhD levels.
For admission to B.Tech, students are required to hold a minimum score of 75% (65% SC, ST and PwD) in Class 12 with PCM along with JEE(Main).
For M.Tech courses, applicants must hold a minimum score of 60% or 6.5 CGPA (55% or 6.0 CGPA) in the undergraduate degree with relevant subjects. Moreover, students are also required to achieve the qualifying rank in the GATE entrance examinations.
