IIIT Kalyani Overview
IIIT Kalyani is one of the 25 IIITs established by the Government of India. In 2017, the institute was recognised as an Institute of National Importance under the Indian Institutes of Information Technology Act. IIIT Kalyani is associated with NASSCOM, which provides internship opportunities in companies like Coal India Limited, Rolta Foundation and JSW Steel Limited.
The institute offers BTech, MTech, and PhD programs in various disciplines like Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, Cybersecurity, etc. In the PG program, the institute offers an Executive MTech program for working professionals. The tuition fee for UG, PG, and PhD courses ranges from INR 25,000 to INR 1,25,000 per semester.

IIIT Kalyani Admission
Candidates can apply for IIIT Kalyani courses for the academic year 2025-26. BTech is the flagship program of the institute, offering specialisations in Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, Computer Science & Engineering, and Electronics & Communication Engineering. Admission for the BTech program is conducted through JEE Mains and JoSAA counselling.
The admission for the MTech program is conducted through the GATE exam, followed by CCMT counselling. IIIT Kalyani offers specialisation in “VLSI & Embedded Systems” in the MTech program. Moreover, the institute also offers an Executive MTech program for working professionals with specialisation in “Artificial Intelligence and Data Science”.

IIIT Kalyani Admission Eligibility Criteria 2025
IIIT Kalyani admission process requires candidates to fulfil the eligibility criteria set by the institute. The general eligibility criteria for BTech, MTech, and PhD programs for the 2025-26 academic year is given below:
Candidates must have passed Class 12 exams with at least 75% marks(65% for SC/ST) from a recognised board for admission in BTech program.
To become eligible for the M.Tech program, candidates must have completed graduation with at least 60% marks(55% for SC/ST) from a recognised university.

IIIT Kalyani Scholarships 2025
The scholarships offered by IIIT Kalyani are given below:
National Fellowship and Scholarship for ST Students: The institute offers scholarships to candidates belonging to the ST category. Under this scheme, candidates will not have to pay the tuition fees for the entire course. Moreover, the institute provides a certain amount to cover the living expenses of the candidate.
Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships: Candidates with at least 80% marks or above in the Class 12 exam are eligible for this scholarship. In this scheme, candidates get INR 1000 per month for the first three years and INR 2000 per month for the fourth and fifth years.
Mukhya Mantri Medhavi Vidyarthi Yojana: Candidates from M.P. domiciles who passed Class 12 exam with at least 85% from CBSE or ICSE are eligible for this scholarship. In this scheme, candidates are exempted from paying the tuition fee for the entire course.
