IIIT Hyderabad Overview
International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIIT Hyderabad) was established in 1998 as a not-for-profit public-private partnership (N-PPP). It is an autonomous university renowned for its research-driven education and offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and PhD programs in a wide range of specialisations. The popular courses offered by IIIT Hyderabad include BTech, MTech and MS (Research). The institute also offers a five-year dual degree program. IIIT Hyderabad has been accredited by NAAC with an “A++ Grade” and has also been ranked among the top institutes.
IIIT Hyderabad has set up a state-of-the-art infrastructure on its 66-acre campus, along with modern classrooms and research centres, and hostels with all the basic amenities. IIIT Hyderabad has 25 research centres and provides hands-on practical experience. IIIT Hyderabad has been a top choice for students due to high placement rates. IIIT Hyderabad Admission
IIIT Hyderabad offers a wide range of courses, which include BTech, MTech, PhD, MS, MPhil, Dual-Degree, and MSIT in various specialisations. For admission to the UG programs, IIIT Hyderabad accepts exams, which include JEE Main for single-degree programs, and Direct Admissions for Students Abroad (DASA) for both single-degree and dual-degree programs. Students can also get admission into undergraduate and dual degree programs based on the Olympiad marks, followed by an interview. IIIT Hyderabad also conducts Lateral Entry Entrance Examination (LEEE) for all the dual degree programs. Special Channel of Admission (SPEC) helps identify talented candidates and offers BTech programs at IIITH.
IIIT Hyderabad provides postgraduate programs in various disciplines, which include Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Bioinformatics, etc. IIIT Hyderabad conducts Postgraduate Entrance Examination (PGEE) for admission into postgraduate programs, which include MTech, MS and PhD. IIIT Hyderabad Admission Eligibility Criteria 2025
IIIT Hyderabad offers various courses at the UG and PG levels. Admission to these programs is based on entrance exams, i.e., UGEE and PGEE. UGEE provides admission for the dual-degree programs, and PGEE provides admission for the MTech, MS, and PhD.
Admission to the dual-degree programs at IIIT Hyderabad is based on UGEE. The applicants must pass Class 12 with Maths, Physics, and Chemistry.
For admission to the IIIT Hyderabad BTech program, candidates are required to obtain 60% marks in Class 12 with Maths, Physics, and Chemistry, along with a valid JEE Main score.
Admission to the PG programs (MTech, MS, and PhD), PG Entrance Examination is conducted by the institute. Candidates are required to have a minimum of 60% marks in a bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject.

IIIT Hyderabad boasts of 99% placement rate. During 2023-24 placements, the average and highest placement package offered was INR 10 LPA and INR 65 LPA, for the computer science and engineering stream. IIIT Hyderabad Scholarships
IIIT Hyderabad offers scholarships to its students based on their academic performance and financial status. The State Bank of India (SBI) branch of IIIT Hyderabad provides a scholarship loan to the students. The maximum loan amount of INR 40 Lakh is provided by the SBI branch of IIIT Hyderabad. IIIT Hyderabad alumni have set up a fund to assist candidates based on their financial needs. Students with a family income below INR 8 Lakh per annum are eligible for the total tuition fee exemption.
