Chettinad Academy of Research and Education was granted the status of a Deemed to be University in 2008. After that, the Institute has been working towards contributing significantly to the fields of medicine, allied health sciences, and nursing. This campus has a history spanning from the 1800s to the early 21st century. Initially developed by British mining companies, it was once the deepest and most productive gold mine in the world.
CARE has various approvals from some of the most prestigious and reputed institutions, such as MCI, INC, TNNMC, AICTE, COA, BCI, and PCI. It is also accredited by NAAC with an A++ grade. Chettinad Academy of Research and Education also has a SIRO status by DSIR and received a star by MHRD’s Innovation Cell.
Keeping in mind the motto of the University, ‘Capability, Character, and Commitment,’ the programs offered are job-oriented and innovative. It offers 74 academic programs that are offered through the faculty of Medicine, Nursing, Allied Health Sciences, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Architecture, Commerce, and Law.
It also has partnerships with foreign universities, such as ITS Indonesia, UTHM, INTI, and Tarlac Agricultural University, Philippines. Additionally, some of the industry partners for this Campus are Zoho, Comment, Innoblitz, Career Craft Academy, HCL Tech, and more. The campus also has various facilities for its students, such as Smart Class, Labs, Library, Auditorium, and a hospital.
Along with these facilities, students are offered placements through the Chettinad Group. They offer strong, career-oriented training, clinical rotations, and partnerships with several multi-speciality hospitals and healthcare chains. Some of the placement partners include Fortis Hospitals, Kauvery Hospital, Optum, Sai Mirra, KNISS Lab, and more.

Candidates who want to get admission into the B.Sc Allied Health Science course should have passed class 12th from CBSE or ICSE in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Botany, Zoology, and English.
For admission into the BPT course, students should have passed class 12th or equivalent with English, Physics, Chemistry, and one of the following subjects: Botany, Zoology, or Biology.
Students who want to get admission into the Bachelor of Optometry course should have passed class 12th with a minimum of 50% marks in PCB/M with English.
For admission into the B.Pharm course, students should have passed the class 12th examination conducted by the state/central government authorities. They should have passed in PCM/PCB with English.
Students who want to get admission into the B.Tech course should have passed class 12th in PCM with a minimum of 45%(40% for the reserved categories).
For admission into the BCA course, one should have passed class 12th from the CBSE or ICSE board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects.
