Calcutta Business School (CBS) provides a two-year full-time AICTE-approved PGDM course that prepares students to take up leadership positions at the management level. Applicants should secure at least 50 % marks in a Graduation degree from a recognised university; final year students can also take admission, but they must submit the documents to prove their eligibility by September 30, 2025. Based on a valid score in the CAT, XAT, MAT, ATMA, JEE-MAT, CMAT, or GMAT, Group Discussion (GD) and a Personal Interview (PI) are then conducted after the CBS Aptitude Test (CBSAT).
The selection process is also holistic, and the institute takes into consideration entrance exam scores, academic records, work exposure and performance in GD-PI as well as leadership potential and communication effectiveness. Tuition waiver schemes are also offered by CBS, such as a 25% tuition waiver for the two highest scorers each term, 15% waiver for the second highest scorer each term and a 50% commitment fee waiver by the university toppers or those with 90th percentile and above in CAT. Admissions to the course of PGDM 2025-27 are currently in progress, and the students can either apply to the course online on the official site or by visiting the admissions office.
For admission into its AICTE‑approved two‑year full‑time PGDM programme, Calcutta Business School (CBS), based in Bishnupur near Kolkata, mandates that candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognised university in India or abroad. Final‐year undergraduate students are eligible to apply, provided they furnish proof of meeting the minimum eligibility requirements by September 30, 2025, failing which they may be asked to withdraw from the programme.
Applicants must present a valid score in any of the following national‑level entrance exams: CAT, XAT, MAT, ATMA, JEE‑MAT, CMAT, or GMAT. Additionally, all candidates are required to qualify in CBS’s aptitude test, the CBSAT, to qualify for further rounds.
Shortlisted candidates are invited to participate in a Group Discussion (GD) and a Personal Interview (PI), during which they are assessed on communication and interpersonal skills, cognitive and problem‑solving ability, leadership potential, general awareness, domain knowledge, attitude, and overall academic record. The final selection is based on a comprehensive evaluation that includes entrance exam score, academic credentials, performance in GD‑PI, and qualitative factors such as work experience and extracurricular involvement.
