Ashoka University Admission Overview 2026
For admission to Ashoka University candidates are required to complete the eligibility criteria of the university, which are different for the UG Courses, PG Courses and Doctoral-Level programmes. The eligibility criteria for the undergraduate programmes at Ashoka University like BA (Hons) and BSc (Hons), candidates are required to complete their 10+2 with minimum aggregate marks from well-recognised educational institutions and for the admission to the postgraduate programmes like MA, MSc, etc., candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree with 50% of marks (45% for reserved categories)
Apart from the Eligibility Requirements candidates also have to appear for the different entrance exams, such as SAT, ACT, CUET and JEE Mains, followed by the personal interview (PI). The Ashoka University also conducts the on-the-spot essays as well as the Ashoka Aptitude Assessment for analysing the thinking skills of the candidates for 90 minutes and it is mandatory for the candidates to appear for the AAA.
Ashoka University also offers PhD programmes in different specialisations and for admission to the PhD programmes, candidates need to have Master’s degree or equivalent with 55% of marks and for admission to summer programmes, candidates must be enrolled as a full-time student with a CGPA of 2.8 on a scale of 4.0 or equivalent. The Ashoka University also accepts the scores of different entrance exams, such as SAT, ACT, CUET, JEE Mains and other test scores. Ashoka University also has the Ashoka Internship Cell (AIC), which is led by the students of the university and operated by the CDO. Special Merit Scholarships: In the Special Merit Scholarships, a 100% tuition fee waiver will be provided to the 50 exceptional students in JEE Mains, IISER (IAT), CMI and the Indian National Olympiads (INO). Students who scored high scores in the National Aptitude Tests will also get the benefit of the special scholarship scheme. To avail the benefits of Special merit Scholarships provided by Ashoka University candidates need to pass the qualifying criteria, which are as follows:
Candidates must have 98 Percentile in the JEE Mains entrance exam.
Candidates must have a top 2000 rank in the IISER Aptitude Test.
Also, a rank of 100 in the CMI entrance examination is required.
Candidates who have qualified for the training camp stage of the Indian National Olympiads (NIO) in Mathematics, Science, Astronomy, Linguistics and Informatics can apply for this scholarship scheme. Achiever’s Merit Scholarship: The Achiever’s Merit Scholarship scheme is awarded on the basis of the candidate’s overall performance in the Ashoka University Admission Process with the performance in School Board Examinations like CBSE, ICSE and ISC. The qualifying criteria for the Achiever’s Merit Scholarship are as follows.
Candidates must have more than 98% in the CBSE, ICSE and ISC board examinations.

Arunkumar & Ramniklal Mehta Scholarship (ARRA): The Ashoka University offers the Arunkumar & Ramniklal Mehta (ARRA) merit-cum-means scholarship for exceptional undergraduate students in partnership with the Rosy Blue Foundation. The Arunkumar & Ramniklal Mehta (ARRA) merit-cum-means scholarship is only applicable for the students who have taken admission in the undergraduate programmes offered at Ashoka University for the current academic year. The Rose Blue Foundation provides this scholarship for the incoming, first-year, full-time undergraduate students for 4 years for the duration of their degree. Under the Arunkumar & Ramniklal Mehta (ARRA) merit-cum-means scholarship, students will get the 100% fee waiver on the tuition fee and residence fee along with the stipend.
College Board India Scholars Program in Partnership with Ashoka University: Students who have scored more than 1300 or above in the SAT entrance exam will be recognised as the top performers by the college board on an annual basis.
