Adamas University West Bengal Overview
Adamas University, rated as one of the best private universities in Kolkata, was established in 2014 by the Sachis Kiran Roy Memorial Trust. It was established under the West Bengal Act IV of 2014. Adamas University faculty and students come from more than 25 countries, and Adamas University Barasat collaborates with more than 85 Universities across 41 countries.
According to the IIRF 2025 rankings, the Barasat Adamas University is ranked as one of the Best BBA colleges in West Bengal. Additionally, Adamas University ranking in India is 4th in India among all the higher education institutions by Education World in 2023-2024.
The UGC recognises Kolkata Adamas University, and the AICTE approves all the UG-level engineering courses. It has approvals from other councils such as BCI, PCI, SIRO, DSIR, and DBT. Furthermore, the University has been accredited with an ‘A’ grade by NAAC.
Adamas University offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Doctoral, and Diploma programs. The University is surrounded by greenery and lies on over 120 acres of land. Students get access to health & medical facilities, ramps & lifts for disabled students, labs, smart classrooms, a digital library, banking facilities, and more. Adamas University hostel offers comfortable and flexible offerings, such as choosing between AC and non-AC rooms. Students also get to choose between three, two, and single bedrooms, & there are separate hostels for boys & girls.
The University also has a dedicated placement cell that provides career opportunities for students and helps them get placed with some of the best companies. Additionally, the placement cell helps students learn skills that are required in today’s competitive world.
According to the recent Adamas University placement records, the highest salary package that has been offered to a student is INR 1 Crore for the 2023 btach, while the highest salary package offered to students was INR 100 LPA in 2024 and the average salary package stood at INR 8.5 LPA.

Adamas University offers a wide range of courses at the Undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and diploma levels. Students who want to get admission into any one of the courses should fill out the online application form and also appear for the Adamas University Admissions Test. Currently, the admission window is open, and students can apply for their preferred courses directly via the official website.

Adamas University Admission Eligibility Criteria 2026
Students who want to get admission into the courses offered by Adamas University should fulfil the following eligibility criteria:
Students who want to get admission into the Bachelor of Arts in Bengali Language & Literature should have passed class 12 with a minimum of 50% marks.
For courses such as B.A. History, students need to have passed class 12th with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognised board.
Candidates applying for the B.Com should have passed class 12th with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognised board.
Students applying for the B.Optom should have passed class 12th with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics.
For courses such as M.Sc Geography, students must have secured 50% marks in class 12th and graduation.
For BBA, candidates should have a minimum of 60% marks in class 12th.
