Adamas University, rated as one of the best private universities in Kolkata, was established in 2014 by the Sachis Kiran Roy Memorial Trust. It was established under the West Bengal Act IV of 2014. Adamas University faculty and students come from more than 25 countries, and Adamas University Barasat collaborates with more than 85 Universities across 41 countries.
According to the IIRF 2025 rankings, the Barasat Adamas University is ranked as one of the Best BBA colleges in West Bengal. Additionally, Adamas University ranking in India is 4th in India among all the higher education institutions by Education World in 2023-2024.
The UGC recognises Kolkata Adamas University, and the AICTE approves all the UG-level engineering courses. It has approvals from other councils such as BCI, PCI, SIRO, DSIR, and DBT. Furthermore, the University has been accredited with an ‘A’ grade by NAAC.

Students who want to get admission into the Bachelor of Arts in Bengali Language & Literature should have passed class 12 with a minimum of 50% marks.
For courses such as B.A. History, students need to have passed class 12th with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognised board.
Candidates applying for the B.Com should have passed class 12th with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognised board.
Students applying for the B.Optom should have passed class 12th with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics.
For courses such as M.Sc Geography, students must have secured 50% marks in class 12th and graduation.
For BBA, candidates should have a minimum of 60% marks in class 12th.
