VGU Moot Court Competition 2026: Dogra Law College Emerges Champion

On an excellent note, the 5th VGU Ranka Moot Court Competition 2026 came to an end at Vivekananda Global University, Jaipur. A prestigious national-level legal event that allowed a variety of talented law students to demonstrate their advocacy, research and courtroom skills.  

This year’s moot problem focused on environmental and constitutional law and encouraged participants to engage with some of today’s most relevant legal issues, such as: environmental protection; fundamental rights; duties of the

state and sustainable development. With over 64 prestige law institutions from across the nation represented, it was one of the most intense and intellectually stimulating experiences of its kind.

Event Overview

Three full days of competition included courtroom simulation battles and new evaluation rounds that challenged participants beyond conventional mooting formats. 

The preliminary rounds took place on April 10, 2026 beginning with rigorously examined trials debating all aspects of law. The second day included an inaugural ceremony and the completion of quarter-final rounds, research based evaluations and a brand new social media evaluation round allowing for a current twist to the overall competition. On the last day, a plethora of competition existed through the semi-final and final rounds of competition concluding in a grand valedictory ceremony.

Distinguished Guests and Insights

The valedictory session witnessed distinguished personalities from the realms of law as well as academia. The Chief Guest, Narendra Kumar Jain, made it clear that honesty, dedication, and hard work are the vital traits required in order to become a successful professional in the field of law. Moot court competitions mimic the environment of a court room, giving the students a practical experience which is indeed priceless.

Guest of Honour, S.C.Shastri, stressed the significance of combining theory and practice when it comes to forging a prosperous career in law. Similarly, J.K.Ranka motivated the participants by saying that it is on platforms like these that future professionals are made, who will go on to make the judiciary of the nation even more robust.

Academics from VGU were also present, commending the dedication of the participants.

Competition Results

The contest ended with commendable performances by the contestants, and the winners were presented with their prizes during the concluding ceremony.

All the winners and contestants were bestowed with awards, certificates, and memorabilia to honor their efforts and achievements.

A Platform for Practical Legal Learning

The experience definitely had its impact on the lives of those law students who participated in this competition. They did not merely learn in theory about the laws and regulations; they gained practical knowledge about how to handle matters in court and argue before the judges.

With the presence of 64 teams along with eminent guests, it was clear that the Vivekananda Global University had become a household name in providing high-quality education in the field of law. The successful conduct of the legal competition showed the commitment of the university towards practical learning.

Concluding the event, the organizers thanked everyone present at the event and pledged to host more such competitions in the future.
