AISMA 2026 Begins at VGU Jaipur: 461 Researchers Join National Conference on Agri-Innovation

The Vivekananda Global University of Jaipur announced the inauguration of a national conference held over two days under the theme “Agri-Innovation and Sustainability in Modern Agriculture (AISMA)”. This national conference has attracted 461 scholars, researchers, and experts in agriculture from all over India. It is a very significant academic gathering in the area of agricultural studies.

The main objective of the conference is to focus on innovation, sustainability, and modernization in agriculture. One important feature of this conference is that the selected best research papers will get the privilege of publication.

The programme began with traditional ceremonies including Ganesh Vandana, lamp lighting, and Saraswati Vandana, followed by a warm welcome of the distinguished guests.

Key Addresses and Insights

The inaugural speech was made by Professor (Dr.) Hoshiyar Singh, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, emphasizing the importance of modern technology in farming. He said that the progress of India as an agrarian economy is dependent upon modern techniques of farming.

The president of the seminar addressed the gathering by saying that the involvement of 461 researchers in the seminar indicated the increasing inclination amongst young scholars towards making agriculture a more profitable venture. He also suggested that these efforts in research could provide a good input for decision-making for policy makers.

Jasveer Singh was the distinguished guest of the occasion and emphasized that sustainability should be promoted in the field of agriculture, and natural farming should be encouraged in lieu of chemical fertilizers.

According to the opinions of Dr. B. S. Khadda, who is the Vice President at SDARD, it is necessary to blend new technologies such as drones, micro irrigation, and soil health cards with farming operations.

Dr. K. R. Bagaria, Founding Vice President, VGU stated that the policy of the university since its inception has been to contribute to the development initiatives of the nation through innovations.

Lalit K. Panwar emphasized that agriculture should be looked upon as a profession. According to him, farmers must know all about pricing, marketing, and export to gain financial freedom.

Vimla Dunkwal, who happened to be the keynote speaker at the conference, gave an inspiring talk. She stressed the significance of using climate resistant plants and conserving water resources. She also pointed out that there is an urgent need for women to engage with technology within the agricultural sector.

Academic Sessions and Participation

After that initial conversation, the conference then proceeded with sessions where there was sharing of knowledge, and presentations were made by speakers who are experts in different fields like organic farming, digital farming, soil, water, etc. Researchers from all over the country came to these sessions and took part in presentations either orally or through posters.
