The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, will soon release the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2026 application forms on its official website for registration, following the trends of previous years. There has not been any official announcement by the authorities, so the students are requested to visit the official website of IIT Guwahati regularly to stay aware of the latest information and updates.
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an entrance examination held in India to evaluate candidates' comprehension of different undergraduate subjects for admission to various postgraduate engineering programs. It is the first round of entrance for postgraduate programs such as M.Tech, M.E., and direct PhD courses at esteemed institutions like IITs, NITs, and IISc. Moreover, a number of public sector undertakings (PSUs) use the GATE scores for their recruitment process.
The GATE 2026 brochure, which is yet to be released, will entail details like date of the examination, eligibility criteria, exam syllabus, registration fees, number of courses, marking scheme and the exam pattern.
GATE 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Applicants from the field of engineering, commerce and humanities in the final year currently pursuing any undergraduate program or have completed any related undergraduate degree recognised by the government of India are eligible to appear in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2026.

PDF format scanned copy of the certificate of Dyslexia (if applicable).
Scanned PDF of the category (SC/ST) certificate (if applicable).
PDF format scanned copy of the PwD certificate (if applicable).
Scanned copy of a valid photo ID: Aadhar-ID (preferable), Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, or Driving License.
The photo identification must include the candidate's Name, Date of Birth, and a unique photo ID number. In the examination hall, this photo ID must be presented in its original form.
