Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday congratulated the 55 SC and ST students who studied at the state-run social welfare schools and secured admission to elite institutions like IITs, NITs, and other medical colleges through the NEET. The students called on the Chief Minister at the Secretariat to thank the state.
Knowing their achievements, Naidu declared the opening of seven more IIT-NEET coaching centers in the state to benefit 1,411 more SC/ST students in the next academic year. He congratulated the students and stated that they achieved top national institutions despite financial challenges. He added that their success demonstrates the potential that exists in the social welfare schools, and how it's our duty to nourish and develop this talent.
Out of 356 students trained this year at the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar IIT NEET Academies in Kurnool, Guntur, and other districts, 129 students have passed the JEE, and 143 have passed NEET. Out of these, 12 students got admission to IITs, 30 to NITs, and 13 to MBBS courses. Furthermore, 14 are likely to get BDS seats, while 19 of them have gotten admission to Government Funded Technical Institutions and central universities.
In appreciation of their efforts, the Chief Minister issued a cheque of INR 1 lakh to each one of the 55 students, amounting to INR 55 lakh in monetary benefits. Inspiring further excellence, Naidu urged the students to strive for greater heights in their academic endeavors and bring glory to the state as well as the nation. Besides this, he also outlined an ambitious goal of quadrupling the number of SC/ST students making it to top-class institutions next year. The minister urges these students to inspire many more and promises to keep investing in education and empowerment so that no deserving student is denied opportunities.
