The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has postponed the CA Final and Intermediate exams 2025 that were to be held on 3 and 4 September in Punjab and Jammu. The notice was released on 2 September 2025 on the official ICAI website.
Why are the exams postponed?
Punjab and Jammu have been facing very heavy rains in the last few days. Many areas are flooded, and normal life has been disturbed. Roads are blocked, transport is not running on time, and it is unsafe for students to travel. Because of this, ICAI decided to shift the exams. The institute said that student safety comes first, and exams cannot be held in such conditions.
ICAI has also reminded that this is not the first time exams have been moved. In the past, papers have been shifted due to elections, government orders, or other natural problems.
Which centres are affected
The postponement is only for some centres. Exams in other parts of India will go on as per the original schedule. The affected centres are:
Amritsar
Bathinda
Jalandhar
Ludhiana
Mandi Gobindgarh
Pathankot
Patiala
Sangrur
Jammu City
New dates have not been announced yet
The new dates for these exams have not been given yet. ICAI has said that once the weather improves and arrangements are ready, the fresh schedule will be shared. Candidates have been asked to keep preparing and wait for the update.
Students are also advised to check only the official website icai.org for correct news. Messages on social media or other sites should not be trusted.
Exams in other places remain the same
ICAI made it clear that only the Punjab and Jammu centres are affected. All other centres in India will run as planned. Students outside these regions should follow the old timetable without any worry.
