The Karnataka Examinations Authority has started the counseling process for the NEET UG 2025. Through this process, the eligible candidates will be granted seats in the state’s medical colleges. According to the official notification, the counseling process will cover 22 medical institutions in the state. The Karnataka NEET UG counseling for the academic year of 2025-26 will be for 85% state quota and 100% private college seats in the state.
The Karnataka state NEET UG counseling is conducted for admissions into courses like MBBS, AYUSH, Bachelor of Dental Surgery, and more across the state of Karnataka. Only those candidates who have qualified in the NEET UG examination by securing the required cutoff marks will be eligible to appear in the counseling process.

State Quota Seats Eligibility
To be considered eligible for the 85% state quota seats in Karnataka, candidates must meet any one of the following requirements:
Candidate must have studied in a government or recognized school in Karnataka for at least 7 years between Class 1 and Class 12.
If the applicant has completed Class 11 and 12 in Karnataka and their parents also studied in the state for 7 years.
If the candidate's parents’ mother tongue is Kannada, Tulu, or Kodava, and your parents live in Karnataka, they will be eligible.
If the student has studied outside the state, they will need to take a Kannada Language Test.
One of the parents served in Karnataka for at least 1 year in the defense forces.
Children of retired defense personnel who have declared Karnataka as their hometown can apply.
If the parent works for the central or state government and has served in Karnataka for at least 1 year.
Candidates are eligible if their parents are officially recognized as migrants from J&K.
