Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) has raised the bar for CAT candidates this year. IIM Ahmedabad made changes in the CAT cut-off score and raised the minimum cut-off for the Post Graduate Program (PGP) for batch 2026-28.
A new benchmark is set as per the updated criteria; the minimum qualification score is set to 95 percentile for General and EWS category candidates and 85 in each of the sections of QA, VARC, and DILR.
If we talk about the previous CAT cutoff, this cut-off score was 80 percent overall, and 70 patients for each section for General. This year, the cut-off mark has increased for examinees for the 2026-28 session.
The revised shortlisting screening still carries a weight of 65% in the selection process that includes the Personal Interview (PI) and Analytical Writing Test (AWT), and the remaining 35% weight is added from the aspirant's academic and profile based on Application Rating (AR).
