The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has formally declared 2,980 confirmed vacancies for the NEET PG 2025 Final Stray Vacancy Round, offering a vital chance for candidates who have not been allotted in the previous counselling sessions. Candidates who have applied for the stray vacancy process are required to fill and lock their choices by February 19, 2025 (11:55 PM) through the official MCC website.
This comes after a major eligibility criteria relaxation has been confirmed by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). In its report to the Supreme Court of India, NBEMS reported that 95,913 candidates have been made eligible for counselling as a result of the reduction in the cut-off percentile to zero. The examination body emphasized that any interference at this advanced stage of counselling could negatively impact thousands of newly eligible candidates.
Moreover, MCC has launched a fresh registration window till February 18, 2025 (11:00 AM) for participation adjustment convenience. Candidates going to the final stray vacancy round are suggested to choose and lock their preferred colleges and courses within the stipulated time. The selection locking window will be opened on February 19 between 4:00 PM to 11:55 PM.
The Final Stray Vacancy Seat Allotment Result will be announced on February 21, 2025. After the allotment, MCC will send candidate information to the concerned authority to remove ineligible entries from state quota processes. Candidates who have been allotted seats are required to join their respective colleges between February 22 and February 28, 2025.
The final leftover vacancy round is an essential part of postgraduate medical course admissions in India. It not only helps the authorities make sure that all the seats are used effectively but also gives eligible candidates a last opportunity.
