The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an official Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) document regarding the NEET UG 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21, 2026. The FAQs clarify important details related to exam city changes, fee refund process, admit cards, exam timing, language options and other examination guidelines for candidates appearing in the re-test.
The NEET UG 2026 re-exam will be conducted on June 21, 2026 (Sunday) from 2 PM to 5:15 PM in pen-and-paper mode across examination centres in India and abroad. The examination is being reconducted after the cancellation of the earlier NEET UG exam held on May 3 due to alleged paper leak issues and examination irregularities. More than 22 lakh students are expected to appear for the re-examination.

According to the official FAQ document released by NTA, the NEET UG 2026 re-exam will be conducted in 13 different languages. These include English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Urdu, Marathi, Malayalam, Gujarati, Punjabi, Assamese, Kannada and Odia.
NTA has also clarified that candidates will not be allowed to change the medium of examination for the re-test. Students will have to appear in the same language medium selected during the original application process.
No Additional Fee for Re-Exam
NTA has confirmed that candidates will not be required to pay any additional examination fee for appearing in the NEET UG 2026 re-exam. Students who had already registered for the May 3 examination will automatically be eligible to appear for the June 21 test without submitting a fresh application form or payment.
As the NTA also clarified, a separate online module for submission of bank account details for fee refund will be activated by May 21, 2026. Through this process, candidates will be able to submit their account information for refund-related formalities.
NTA Allows Change in Exam City Preference
The National Testing Agency has allowed candidates to modify their preferred examination city in case they have shifted their residence after the cancellation of the original examination. Candidates can update their city preference through the official website till May 21, 2026.
Students can choose their first and second preferred examination cities. However, NTA clarified that no corrections in other details will be allowed except for the present address and choice of exam city. Also, there will be No extra fee will be charged for changing the exam city preference.
Admit Card and City Intimation Slip Details
NTA is expected to release the NEET UG 2026 city intimation slips and admit cards a few days before the examination. According to official updates, admit cards are likely to be issued by June 14, 2026, through the official website.
