The FMGE June 2026 exam has come under scrutiny after several foreign medical graduates raised concerns over the difficulty level of the paper, examination centre facilities and the result evaluation process. In response to these complaints, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has set up a three-member committee to review the concerns raised by candidates who appeared for the FMGE June exam 2026. Now, several foreign medical graduates held protests in New Delhi and are asking for result re-evaluation.
Candidates have questioned the result assessment process after only 12.77% of applicants cleared the FMGE June 2026 examination. The newly formed committee will examine various complaints including the exam’s difficulty level, test centre arrangements and reports related to the conduct of the examination.
FMGE June 2026 Protest: Key Concerns Raised by Candidates
Several foreign medical graduates protested on July 10 outside the NBEMS office and Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. The protest was related to the FMGE June Exam and was organised by the All India Medical Students' Association - Foreign Medical Students Wing (AIMSA-FMSW) and the Association of Foreign Graduates (AFA).
During the protest, several issues highlighted by the candidates included the increased difficulty level of the FMGE June 2026 question paper compared to previous sessions.
Some of the students have also mentioned the inadequate facilities they have faced at FMGE examination centres. Students at a Noida exam centre complained about the poor ventilation and cooling facilities, which made it difficult for them to appear for the exam in temperatures above 40°C. Some candidates said they felt unwell, dizzy and exhausted because of the heat which affected their performance.
As NBEMS has recently declared the FMGE June 2026 result and applicants found out about the low pass percentage (around 88% of candidates reportedly failed). Candidates questioned the transparency of the exam and result evaluation process. They also demanded an independent review of the examination process and evaluation system by NBEMS.
NBEMS Sets Up Panel to Examine FMGE June 2026 Candidate Complaints
After discussions with student representatives, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has set up a three-member committee to look into the concerns raised by FMGE June 2026 candidates.
The committee will review:
Candidate complaints: Examine the issues and grievances submitted by students regarding the FMGE June 2026 exam.
Exam difficulty level: Review candidates’ concerns that the question paper was more difficult compared to previous sessions.
Exam centre issues: Check reports related to facilities and arrangements at various examination centres.
Student representations: Consider the demands and concerns raised by candidates and student associations.
Overall exam process: Review the conduct of the examination to identify any operational issues or irregularities.
NBEMS to Check Exam Centre Reports and CCTV Footage
Along with forming the review committee, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will work with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the technology partner for conducting the FMGE examination, to examine the concerns raised by candidates.
The review process will include:
Checking CCTV footage from examination centres to assess the situation during the exam.
Reviewing reports submitted by different test centres.
Identifying any issues related to exam operations and arrangements.
Taking required steps to improve the examination process and avoid similar concerns in future FMGE sessions.
