National Institute of Science and Research (NISER) Bhubaneswar and UM-DAE Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (CEBS), Mumbai, have declared the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2026 results on 24 June 2026 at 4 PM.
The NEST Exam is conducted for candidates who are seeking admission to the five-year Integrated MSc programmes. Those candidates who appeared for the entrance examination can now check their qualified status and merit rank by visiting the official NEST Exam website. The result has been released in the form of a merit list and the rank will play an important role in the admission process.
However, the NEST 2026 scorecard has not been released yet. Those candidates who have qualified this examination can download their scorecard from 30 June 2026 at 2 PM onwards. Candidates should regularly check the official NEST website for the latest updates on counselling, admissions and scorecards. It is important to complete all required admission formalities on time.
NEST 2026 Result: Steps to Check
The NEST 2026 Result link has been activated and candidates can follow these simple steps to view their NEST 2026 result online.
Step 1: Go to the official NEST website https://nestexam.in
Step 2: Click on the link “RESULT of NEST 2026 - Check your merit rank" available on the homepage.
Step 3: Enter your application number, date of birth and captcha code in the login window.
Step 4: Click on the Submit/Login button.
Step 5: Your NEST 2026 result and merit rank will appear on the screen.
Step 6: Download the result and save a copy, as it will be required for the future admission process.
What Happens After NEST 2026 Results?
Firstly, the NEST 2026 result is based on a candidate's performance in the entrance exam. While preparing the result, the best scores obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology are taken into consideration to determine the merit rank.
After the results are announced, those candidates who have qualified will need to wait for the further Nest admission and NEST 2026 counselling schedule. NISER Bhubaneswar and CEBS Mumbai will release the merit list and further admission details on their official websites. Candidates whose names appear in the merit list will be invited to participate in the admission process and complete the required formalities at their allotted institute.

A total of 261 seats are offered through NEST 2026 admissions.

NEST 2026 Exam Details and Overview
The NEST 2026 exam was held in computer based mode on 6 June from 2 PM to 5 PM across around 140 exam centres in India.
It is the entrance exam for admission to the five-year Integrated MSc programmes at NISER Bhubaneswar and UM–DAE CEBS Mumbai. Both institutes are run by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India.
Admission is based on the candidate’s performance in the exam and the merit list prepared by the institute. Candidates should check their results carefully and keep a copy of their scorecard for the admission process.
