The Maharashtra First Year Junior College (FYJC) admissions for 2025 have officially begun. The Round One allotment list was released on 28 June 2025, starting off the seat allocation for students entering Class 11 in Arts, Commerce, and Science streams across the state. With more than 10.6 lakh students applying, competition is expected to be very high this year.

Key Details of Round One Allotment

The Maharashtra School Education Department’s centralized admission process (CAP) has allotted seats to more than 6.3 lakh students in the first round. The distribution across streams is noteworthy: approximately 1.5 lakh students in Arts, 1.4 lakh in Commerce, and a substantial 3.4 lakh in Science. This reflects the continued dominance of the Science stream among Maharashtra’s Class 10 students.

The allotments cover thousands of junior colleges and higher secondary schools, with over 9,400 institutions participating and more than 21 lakh seats available statewide. The sheer volume of applications and allotments underscores the scale and importance of this annual process for students and parents alike.
