School Advised To Observe Guidelines Closely
To maintain uniformity across the country, CBSE has instructed all affiliated schools to carefully review the circular and its annexures before commencing assessments. The board reiterated that all directions must be followed as stated, and no further requests will be accepted for last-minute changes or adjustments.
Marking Structure for Each Subject
CBSE reasserted that 100 marks represent each subject, which is divided into various components, including:
Theory
Practical
Project work
Internal assessment
The breakdown of marks will be different by subject; more information is available in the annexure.
With the 2026 board examinations approaching, this most recent communication from CBSE provides an advanced opportunity to clarify and better support assessment procedures to both schools and students. The subject-wise scores breakdown and additional clarity on mark submissions are to assist in promoting a transparent, orderly, and efficient board examination process for the academic year ahead.
