NIFT 2026 Round 2 Choice Filling Begins from July 3; Check Schedule and Documents Required

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) will commence the NIFT 2026 Round 2 Choice Filling on July 3, 2026. Candidates who are interested in completing their higher education from any NIFT across the country can secure a seat in their preferred campus and programme. Eligible students who have participated in round 1 and want to upgrade must submit their course and campus choices before the last date of 5th July 2026 (till midnight).  

Applicants are advised to modify their choices in Round 2 or make corrections to their application on July 3, 2026 till 5 PM. Candidates who made any corrections in the application forms need to keep their documents ready with them for verification. 

After the choice modification window closes, NIFT will release the Round 2 seat allotment result based on candidates' merit rank, category, seat availability and the preferences submitted during counselling. Candidates who receive a seat in this round will have to confirm their admission by submitting their willingness and paying the required admission fee within the given timeline. NIFT 2026 Round 2 Choice Filling Process

The NIFT 2026 Round 2 Choice Filling process is completely online. Candidates are required to follow a structured process, which has been stated by NIFT for locking in their choices. The process is as follows. 

Step 1: Lock Choices - Candidates need to select campuses and programmes according to their preferences before the deadline.

Step 2: Seat Allotment  -  Based on the candidate’s choices, merit, availability of seats, and reservation category, NIFT allots seats.

Step 3: Release of Results - To check the allotted seats and campuses, candidates can log in to the counselling portal and download the provisional allotment letter.

Step 4: Confirm Admission - Candidates who receive a seat must submit their willingness and pay the admission fee within the given timeline to confirm their admission. Failure to do so will lead to the cancellation of the allotted seat.

NIFT 2026 Round 2 Seat Allotment Guidelines

Before locking the choices for NIFT 2026 Round 2 seat Allotment, candidates must check and follow all the guidelines which are mentioned below. 

• All candidates must check and complete the eligibility criteria before locking in their choices. 

• Complete counselling registration and document verification before the deadline. Fill and lock preferred campuses and programmes carefully.

• Upload only valid documents for verification and submit all before the deadline. 

• Regularly check the official counselling portal for updates and important announcements.

• Report to the allotted NIFT campus with original documents for final admission formalities.

• Candidates who will not submit the relevant documents will not be considered for admission. 

NIFT 2026 Round 2 Counselling Documents Required

Applicants who are participating in the NIFT round 2 counselling need to keep the specific documents ready with them for verification. The documents required are listed below. 

• Class 10 certificate/marksheet

• Class 12 certificate/marksheet

• Graduation degree and mark sheets (for PG programme applicants)

• Recent passport-size photograph

• Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS), if applicable

• PwD/UDID certificate, if applicable

• Domicile proof (only for candidates claiming domicile seats)

• Passport and visa/work permit documents (for NRI-sponsored candidates)

• Cancelled cheque or bank account details

• Medical Fitness Certificate (as per the prescribed format)
