The National Testing Agency is all set to conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026 again on June 21, 2026, in pen and paper mode at various centres in 551 cities across the country. Around 22.79 lakh candidates are going to appear for the Re-NEET exam 2026, and more than 16 lakh candidates have downloaded the NEET admit card 2026, which is an important document.
To ensure a smooth and hassle-free examination process, NTA has issued important exam-day guidelines. Ahead of the examination, the NTA has also advised candidates to check all exam-related details carefully and avoid depending on unofficial messages or rumours. The agency has also introduced verified communication channels to share genuine updates with candidates and warned students about fake information and fraudulent activities
NTA has clarified that the NEET Re-Exam 2026 has not been postponed and will be conducted as per the schedule. In addition to this, the agency has also launched a mental health helpline, MANAS at 14416, to help students facing anxiety or stress during these last days.

NEET Re-Exam 2026: Important Guidelines for the Candidates
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released some guidelines for the candidates who are going to appear for the NEET Re-Exam on 21st June 2026. The guidelines released by NTA are as follows.
Candidates must reach the examination centre before the reporting time with a printed copy of the admit card and other photo ID proof.
Applicants must strictly follow the dress code and carry only permitted items. Items like mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth devices, calculators, wallets, jewellery, metallic accessories and food packets are not allowed inside the examination hall.
Check and trust only the information given on the official website of NTA.
Do not fall prey to rumours or fraudulent claims of question paper leaks; report suspicious messages or channels to NTA or to cybercrime authorities immediately.
NEET Re-Exam 2026: Dress code needs to be followed by the Aspirants
On the day of the examination, applicants must be well-dressed and follow the dress code so that they can appear for the exam without any problem. The dress code for the NEET Re-Exam 2026 is as follows.
Applicants need to wear simple clothes like T-shirts and shirts.
Long sleeves or woollen clothes are allowed.
Avoid heavy outfits, fancy sleeves, embroidery, buttons, zips, pockets or frills.
Wear trousers or pants without pockets.
Do not wear metallic or non-metallic jewellery.
Closed shoes are not allowed; wear open footwear.
NEET Re-Exam 2026: NTA Advisory for Biometric Verification
The NTA has also issued some advisories regarding biometric verification at the exam centre. According to the NTA's biometric verification advisory, candidates must carefully verify their biometrics, including fingerprint and face verification. In any case, if the biometric verification is incomplete, such candidates will not be allowed to appear for the exam without a written undertaking. There are some exceptions in which biometrics are acceptable. Biometric verification is acceptable for the following reasons:
Device hardware failure
Poor quality of biometric data
Connectivity failure with UIDAI servers
Physical inability of the candidate
NEET Re-Exam 2026: Documents Required
Along with the admit card, candidates must take these documents to the exam centre on the day of the exam.
Admit Card and self-declaration form.
Passport-size photo.
Original photo ID proof.
PwD certificate and Scribe documents.
Candidates need to take a printout of the admit card and paste their passport photograph same as uploaded on the application form. Candidates must ensure to do their signature before reaching the examination hall.
