IIT Dhanbad Eligibility Criteria: 

The eligibility criteria will depend on the program and its specialisations, opted for by the candidate. 

• The eligibility criteria for admission to B.Tech program is a minimum of 75% marks in Class 10th and 12th, respectively, and a valid JEE Advanced score.

• Furthermore, for PG programs, a minimum of 60% marks in the relevant subjects in graduation and a valid rank in national entrance examinations like GATE, IIT JAM, and CAT is required. 

• A minimum score of 60% in a relevant degree is required for Ph.D admissions.

*A relaxation of 5% in the overall eligibility of a course is provided to reserved category students. 

IIT Dhanbad offers B.Tech in 15+ specialisations such as Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Science, Environmental Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science at the UG level. Admissions are based on JEE Advanced score, followed by the JoSAA counselling. The online registration link for JEE Advanced will be open till 5th May 2025, only for registration fee payment. Candidates need to pay an application fee of INR 600 (UR/EwS category) and INR 300 (SC/ST/PwD category).

IIT Dhanbad PG Admission 2025

PG programs such as M.Tech, M.Sc, and MBA are offered by IIT Dhanbad in specialisations like Environmental Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Digital Humanities, and Social Sciences. The admission process began in March 2025 and will end in July 2025, for most of the PG courses. Students require a minimum of 60% aggregate in graduation and a valid score in top entrance examinations like GATE, CAT, IIT JAM, UGC NET, CAT, etc. 

IIT Dhanbad MTech Admission 2025

Indian Institute of Technology Dhanbad offers a 2-year M.Tech course at the postgraduation level in specialisations like Chemical Engineering, Data Science & Analytics, CSE ( Computer Science and Engineering), Civil Engineering, Geology, Power System Engineering, Geomatics, and many more. 

The eligibility criteria for admission to this course is graduation with a minimum of 60% marks in the relevant field. M.Tech follows an entrance-based selection through exams like GATE. The last date to apply for M.Tech program was 19th April 2025. Candidates need to pay an M.Tech application fee of INR 600 (General Category) and INR 300 (SC/ST/PwD Category). 

Moreover, the M.Tech program’s fee structure is between INR 1,00,000 to INR 2,00,000, approximately.

Ph.D courses at IIT Dhanbad are both part-time and full-time research programs promoting research across science, engineering, and management domains, supported by expert faculty and research facilities. PhD programs provided are for 3 3-year duration, and their admission is based on a minimum of 60% marks in a relevant postgraduate course and a valid UGC-NET, GATE, NET, CAT, GMAT, DST-INSPIRE, or CSIR/UGC-JRF score. IIT Dhanbad Integrated Courses Admission 2025

IIT Dhanbad offers 3-year and 5-year Interdisciplinary courses in various specialisations. These programs blend multiple fields of study, such as B.Tech and MBA, B.Tech and M.Tech, and M.Sc and M.Tech, to offer a comprehensive learning experience to students. The last date to apply for these courses is 16 July 2025. The fee structure of such courses is dependent on the duration and specialisation, ranging from INR 32,260 to INR 2,00,000.
