The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has released the much-awaited Round 4 seat allotment results for 2025. Candidates who participated in this round can now check their allotted institute and branch by logging into the official JoSAA portal at josaa.nic.in. Candidates must use their JEE Main 2025 application number and password to register and view the allotments. This announcement marks a crucial phase for thousands of engineering aspirants vying for seats at premier institutions, including IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.
JoSAA Seat Acceptance Fee and Document Verification
Candidates allotted a seat in Round 4 must pay the Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) by 09 July 2025. The Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) is fixed at INR 15,000 for candidates belonging to categories such as SC, ST, GEN-PwD, GEN-EWS-PwD, OBC-NCL-PwD, SC-PwD, and ST-PwD. For candidates from all other categories, the SAF is INR 30,000. This fee includes a non-refundable JoSAA processing charge of INR 5,000, while the remaining amount will be adjusted against the admission fee. Only after successful fee payment, candidates proceed with document upload and verification. Failure to respond to any queries raised during verification within the stipulated time will result in seat cancellation and ineligibility for further rounds.
Options After JoSAA Seat Allotment
JoSAA provides flexibility for candidates to manage their seat allocation preferences:
Freeze: Accept the allotted seat and pay the respective fee.
Float: Retain the seat while remaining open to higher-preference institutes or courses in subsequent rounds.
Slide: Retain the seat while seeking an upgrade to a preferred branch within the same institute.
Candidates can switch between float, slide, and freeze options during all rounds except the final one.
