The University of Delhi (DU) has officially released its comprehensive guidelines for UG admission for the academic year 2025-26. The new Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS-UG) is available on the university’s website. According to this, the admission process will be fully digital and merit-based for all colleges, departments, and centers affiliated with DU. Below is what you need to know about CSAS-UG 2025-26.
Single-Window Digital Admission: CSAS-UG Portal
For the 2025-26 academic session, all undergraduate admissions across DU’s colleges, departments, and centers will be conducted through the CSAS-UG portal (https://ugadmission.uod.ac.in). The university has made it clear that admissions processed outside this system will not be considered valid. This rule focuses on the binding nature of the new rules on all constituent colleges and departments.
Admission Criteria: CUET-UG 2025 Scores Are Important
Admission to every undergraduate program at Delhi University will be based on the CUET-UG 2025 scores, which are conducted by the NTA. However, sitting for the CUET-UG exam does not guarantee that the candidates will get a seat. Candidates must also apply through the CSAS-UG portal and fulfill all program-specific eligibility criteria as detailed in the Undergraduate Bulletin of Information (UG BOI-2025).
Eligibility and Application Process
Candidates must have passed Class 12th from a single recognized board and appeared in CUET-UG 2025 to be eligible.
The application process is completely online. No offline or alternative submissions will be accepted.
Applicants are required to fill in their preferences for programs and colleges during the application process.
The application fee is set at INR 250 for UR/OBC-NCL/EWS candidates and INR 100 for SC/ST/PwBD candidates. Additional fees apply for those applying under the ECA, Sports, or certain performance-based programs.
Seat Allocation, Reservation, and Supernumerary Quotas
The Seat allocation process in DU is based entirely on CUET-UG 2025 scores and is subject to the fulfillment of all eligibility criteria. Each BA program combination in a college is treated as a distinct entity for allocation purposes. For performance/practical/audition/sports-based programs and supernumerary quotas (such as ECA and Sports), a combined score of CUET-UG and additional tests or certificates will be considered.
In addition, DU continues to uphold its reservation policy for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS, PwBD, and minority categories. Supernumerary quotas are also maintained for Children/Widows of Armed Forces Personnel, Kashmiri Migrants, Single Girl Child, Orphans, and others. Importantly, any unfilled supernumerary seats will not be converted to other categories, and the university is not obligated to fill all such seats.
Document Verification and Admission Confirmation
All admissions are temporary until candidate show their original documents in person, as asked by the university or college.
If applicant does not submit the required documents or pay the fees on time, they will lose their admission offer.
If any of their documents are found to be fake or incorrect, their admission can be canceled, and legal action may be taken, even if they have already finished their course.
Admission Withdrawal, Fee Payment, and Refunds
The entire process, including document uploads, fee payment, upgrades, and withdrawals, is managed through the CSAS-UG portal. The university has a clear refund policy, and candidates are advised to understand the procedures to avoid financial loss. Fees paid are valid only for the specified programs and will not be adjusted for other courses.
Financial Aid: PM-Vidyalaxmi Scheme
Another highlight in the CSAS guidelines is the Pradhan Mantri Vidyalaxmi (PM-Vidyalaxmi) Scheme, a central government initiative. It helps students provide collateral-free, guarantor-free education loans admitted to quality higher education institutions, including DU. The scheme allows students to apply to multiple banks through a single portal and offers interest subsidies to eligible candidates. The application process is free of charge, and a dedicated helpline is available for queries.
Grievance Redressal and Support
DU has set up multiple channels for addressing admission-related queries, including chatbots, helplines, and a dedicated email helpdesk. The university encourages candidates to regularly check their dashboard, registered email, and the official admission website for updates and notifications.
Conclusion
The 2025-26 UG admissions at DU will be fully online and merit-based, following the CSAS UG system. Interested students are required to regularly check the official notifications and keep an eye out for the latest updates on the official website. It is because “DU reserves the right to revise, amend, or delete any part of the CSAS-UG-2025 guidelines without prior notice.”
