The University has a total of 47 courses comprising UG, PG, Diploma, Certificate, and Phd, such as BA, B.com, BBA, BCA, MA, MBA, MLIS, and more in different disciplines such as Humanities, Social Sciences, Sciences, Education, Professional Studies, and Vocational Studies schools.
Admission at NSOU is done twice a year, in two sessions: first in January and then in June or July. For the January admission session, the application will start on April 30, 2025, and the last date to submit the form is May 30, 2025. The renewal application form for 2024-25 has been extended until 15th April 2025. For admission, candidates should have a minimum of 10+2 for a certificate, diploma, or undergraduate course, 10+2+3 for a postgraduate course, and 10+2+3+2 for a PhD, and so on.

NSOU Admission 2025-26
The NSOU provides a wide range of programmes such as UG (BA, BCom, BSc, BBA, BCA, BEd), PG (MA, MCom, MBA, MSc, and MCA), Diploma, certificate and doctoral degrees in fields of arts, commerce, management, science, education, and more. NSOU admission is based on merit, considering the score of the last qualified exam. While some courses, such as Ph.d, B.Ed., and M.Ed., require an entrance test.
The admission process for UG, PG, and various courses will start on 30th April 2025, and the last date to apply will be 30th May 2025. Students with a 10+2, Bachelor's, or higher degree can apply by filling out the application form on the official website of NSOU, https://www.wbnsou.ac.in/.
To be eligible, candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks in 10+2 for the UG course. While for PG courses, candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree for Ph.d programs, along with a qualifying entrance exam.
NSOU Admission Eligibility Criteria 2025
To apply, candidates should review the eligibility criteria to ensure a smooth process. For admission into NSOU, some courses require entrance exams, while others do not. Here are the general eligibility criteria required for different programs.
Candidates must have completed their 12th grade with at least 45-50% marks from a recognised board for UG admission.
For PG programs, candidates need to hold a graduation degree from a recognised university.
For Certificates and Diplomas, candidates must have a minimum of a 10+2 education.
For Ph.D, applicants must have a master’s degree with at least 55% marks and also qualify for the entrance examination.
There is no certain age limit for any courses.
NSOU Application form 2025-26
The application at NSOU will start soon, with applications for UG and PG courses beginning on April 30, 2025, and the last date to apply is May 30, 2025. Meanwhile, for the Ph.D. course, applications will be available from July 31, 2025, to August 19, 2025*. Candidates who are willing to apply need to visit the university's official website and submit their application before the deadline.
Filling out the application fee is the first step in the application process. It includes filling in personal details such as name, qualification, address, and more, and uploading scanned documents (Aadhaar card, PAN card, and more), as well as paying an application fee of INR 500. (Varies for different courses)

NSOU Course Admission 2025
NSOU offers about 47 programs, out of which 34 are undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses, and 13 are PhD courses, such as BA, B.Sc, B.Com, MA, M.Sc, MBA, PhD, and diploma programs with different specializations, including Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, Medicine, Technology, etc. Duration of UG course is 3/4 years, PG is 2 years, Diploma and certificate range from 6 months to 1 Year, and Phd is generally 3 to 5 years. whereas the fee structure ranges from INR 9,300 to INR 36,000. Admissions to these courses are based on merit, and entrance exams are required for specific courses.

NSOU UG Admission 2025-26
Admission for various UG courses at NSOU will start from April onwards, and the last date to apply for UG admission is May 30, 2025. Some of the famous undergraduate courses offered by NSOU are BCA, BBA, BPT, BA, B.Com, B.Sc, and B.Ed. These courses are 3 years long, divided into 6 semesters. (Some courses can be of 4 years as well, depending on the course.)
The UG admission is merit-based on the last qualifying exam, along with the candidate having passed a minimum of 10+2 or equivalent with 50% marks for general categories and 45% marks for ST/SC and OBC from a recognized institution (CBSE/ICSE and state boards).
The average fee structure of UG programmes at NSOU is between INR 10,000 to INR 16,000 per year.
NSOU PG Admission 2025-26
NSOU offers admission in various streams, including arts, sciences, commerce, and education, and provides courses such as MA in Political Science, MSc in Zoology, MCom, MLIS, Master of Social Work, and MEd in Special Education.
Candidates willing to take admission need to visit the official NSOU website and fill out the application form by May 30, 2025, to secure admission. The Master’s program at NSOU is a 2-year program, divided into four semesters.
Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum aggregate of 50% for general categories and 45% for other categories (ST/SC/OBC).
The average fee structure for the PG course at NSOU is between INR 7,600 to INR 36,000 per year.
NSOU Doctoral (PhD) Admission 2025-26
NSOU also provides Ph.d programmes in different specialisations such as Zoology, Political Science, Environmental Science, Bengali, Arts, Commerce, Management, and more. The duration of P.hd is between 3 to 5 years, divided into multiple semesters, depending on the course. Also, MPhil graduates may qualify for direct admission.
To be eligible for admission into PhD programs, candidates should appear and pass the entrance exam and then undergo an interview. Along with it, one should have a master's degree with a minimum of 55% marks for general and 50% for others in a relevant subject and field. The average fee structure for the PhD program is INR 22,000 to INR 37,000 per year.
