The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM Bangalore) has made an announcement regarding the winners of the Alumni Service Award (ASA) 2025. These awards acknowledge the involvement and contributions made by the alumni of the institute and the alumni network to the institute. Additionally, the statement mentions that the award ceremony will be held at the 52nd Foundation Day celebrations at IIM Bangalore.

The Alumni Service Award, started in 2023 at IIMB’s Golden Jubilee year, acknowledges the support of the alumni to the institute, the IIMB Alumni Association (IIMBAA), and the alumni community at large. The get-together will enable each winner to receive a citation acknowledging their selfless service and dedication to the IIMB community.

Alumni Service Award 2025 Recipients

IIM Bangalore awarded Alumni Service Award to Navin Kumar (PGP 1999), Karan Bhagat (PGP 2001), and Michael Sequeira (PGP 2010) for their remarkable & sustained contributions to both the institute and its community.

Navin Kumar has been connected with technology and talent-related services for more than 30 years and has interacted with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore a great deal through his teaching and alumni engagement. From 2018 to 2019, he was the Vice President of the IIMB Alumni Association and was instrumental in the change of IIMBueX, the online medium of the IIMBue leadership event, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Karan Bhagat, the CEO and Founder of 360 ONE, a leading wealth and asset management company in India, has been a major supporter of the leadership conclave, the IIMBue transdisciplinary, and other alumni-led initiatives. Besides aiding such projects, he has also facilitated those that create deeper connections between corporate and IIMB while fostering leadership among students and alumni.

Michael Sequeira, presently the Legal Officer at the Sanctuary Group in the UK, has been the voice of accessibility and inclusion at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. He is an alumnus of the batch of 2010 and played a significant role in the establishment of the Office of Disability Services (ODS), an initiative that was not only new to IIM Bangalore but also the entire IIM family. He still mentors differently-abled students and is involved in setting up Stars of IIM Bangalore, a support network for alumni and students with special needs.

IIMB Recognizes Alumni for Supporting the Institute

The Alumni Service Award is counted among the significant honors of the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. It is given to the voluntary alumni who contribute to the development of the institute as well as its community. The award by IIMB acknowledges the importance of alumni engagement through academic, social, and institutional activities.

Over time, the award has been about harnessing the potential of alumni collaboration, creating mentoring networks, and endorsing activities that build up the relationship of IIMB with its alumni community spread across the world.

The recipients of the 2025 award will be felicitated at the award function on the IIM Bangalore campus later this month during the Foundation Day celebrations.
